I’m so behind on my blogging. Times have been busy, I’m undergoing an entire business makeover that you will see later this year. A few weeks ago, I shot the lovely Susanna Zachary in her Sarah Seven wedding dress from The Lovely Bride in West Hollywood. We headed to Silverlake for a few shots and then out to Elysian Park for the rest. The amazing Rachel Dyke did hair and makeup for the session. Here are a few of my favorites from the day.

Johanna & Justin’s Engagement Session!

Vintage lovers, start your drooling! The first thing that struck me about Johanna and Justin was their style. They said they loved eating at taco trucks, so the image of the mobile fashion truck came to me. I contacted Meagan Rogers of Dig Thriftique, and she let us borrow her truck for the session. Can’t wait to photograph their wedding in the fall!

Jenny & Eric’s Wedding!

I met Jenny over lunch only a month or so before her wedding and instantly clicked. She’s a photographer with a love of vintage style, a vegetarian (so am I) and her beau, Eric, is a sous chef with a passion for organic and farm-to-table food (so is mine). She told me about her awesome and completely untraditional ideas of having giant balloons instead of flowers and guests sitting in a circle for the ceremony. Needless to say, I was thrilled to be able to photograph their wedding. They got married at the Corona Yacht Club in Coachella, a gorgeous venue with palm trees, orange groves and a big lake. Jenny’s mother handmade her intricate and beautiful lace wedding dress as well as all the bridesmaids dresses. Jenny’s wedding ring was a gorgeous vintage find. Jenny’s brother married the two in one of the most epic and unique weddings I’ve had the honor to attend. Thank you to my best friend and lovely photographer Christine Yuan for second shooting with me. Congrats to Jenny & Eric DeSimone (amazing last name, right?!), and without further ado, here is the wedding…

Happy Easter friends! Check out Karlee and Joseph’s easter themed engagement session for some spring fun! Hope every one has a lovely day filled with chocolates and family. I’m starting a new feature (part of a huge change in my website and developments) called Instagram month. Every month I’ll recap with some of my favorite Instagram photos. March has been a great month starting off with a photo session in San Francisco and a wedding in Coachella! Lots of fun shoots this month and of course lots of playing with my little Parsley. I attended The Cream event in downtown LA which was awesome and had a booth at the Vintage Glam Show at UCLA. Can’t wait for what’s to come next :)

Lupita & David’s San Francisco Engagement Session

So excited to share Lupita and David’s session today! We road tripped out to SF to get these photos and had a blast. Lupita and David are doing the long distance right now, Lupita living in Orange County and David living in Monterey Bay. I can’t wait to see these two together at the end of the year. I came out the day before and found this lovely location at Crissy Fields with a beautiful view of the Golden Gate bridge on one side, and the city on the other. Juxtaposed with the beauty of the serene ocean, I thought it was a perfect spot to show off their love. It was a windy and cloudy day, but we got lots of pretty moments. Here are my favorites of the day :)

Holly & Oscar Engagement Los Angeles

This engagement session was too much fun! Holly & Oscar met on Ok Cupid and their love blossomed quickly. Their first date was at Starbucks in Little Tokyo, Holly lived in downtown LA and they spent months exploring the city together. They say downtown LA was the city where they fell in love, so we wanted to incorporate the famous skyline in their images. They are a goofy pair with a love for music and a great sense of humor. We started at Angel’s Knoll, a sweet little spot that is featured in (500) Days of Summer, and then headed over to a hidden gem with a great view of the LA buildings. I’m so excited to show you these and I hope you love them!

Moving day! I’m moving today from my Koreatown apartment I shared with my lovely boyfriend to a wonderful and quaint studio apartment in Echo Park. Things are pretty hectic today, and Parsley the dog is going a bit insane with all the foot traffic. But amidst the chaos, I got a notification that my session with Jazz and Anders was published today in The Loveliest Day! Such a sweet feature for a sweet couple :)

It’s a Doily Friday!

Happy Friday friends :) Hope your 2013 is going great and your resolutions are keeping up! Doilies are such a beautiful and simple way to spruce up your space or packaging. I buy my doilies from this website, they have tons of different kinds — the cloth kind, not the dinky paper kind. Use your imagination to create tons of gorgeous items! Or check out what I’ve found for you :)

1) Absolutely love this idea from A Beautiful Mess, I’m often frustrated at the ugly hangers in images with a gorgeous wedding dress. Here’s a fun and easy way to make a pretty hanger to go with your pretty dress!

2) Check out this garland from The Collection Event Studio, such a fab idea to use for your ceremony in place of an arch — or even pair it with an arch decorated in doilies! Too much?

3) Use a balloon and some lace doilies to create this gorgeous lamp found on DOS Family. It’s actually pretty simple to make and looks stunning. I could imagine a whole lot of these hanging in a barn house for your reception.

4) Get really creative and make a table runner for your reception! Check out instructions by Ashley Ann, use lots of different kinds for a really unique look!

Boudoir Session with Dru

Happy 2013! I’m so excited to start the new year and get started with my resolutions — be more organized, eat healthier and workout more! I’m so thankful for all my lovely clients this year and can’t wait to get started on engagement sessions soon! Today I’m excited to share Dru’s boudoir session; normally I don’t post boudoir sessions to my blog, but Dru was kind enough to allow me to post a few. Dru teaches pole dancing at The Secret Pole Dance Studio in Culver City so she wanted to incorporate this into her session. She had told me she wanted a soft, feminine graceful quality to these images and the first thing I thought of was finding a place with pretty painted walls and a big window. We headed out to Silver Lake to a friend’s house who had exactly this! I’m so happy with the way these turned out, her posing is so graceful yet strong and stable.

I’m offering a boudoir session special for the month of January and February to offer your beau for valentine’s day. No pole involved (unless you have one!), but feminine and creative images of you on a couch or bed. Remember, all my sessions are personalized to match YOU, and that goes for boudoir as well. We’ll find a creative way to photograph you in a way that you love. You’ll receive beautifully packaged prints to gift to your special someone. A boudoir session is a wonderful and personal gift. I hope everyone is still enjoying their holiday afterglow :) I’m so excited for what’s to come this new year. I have tons of lovely new clients for next year with engagement sessions coming up soon along with lots of bridal shows! I’ll also be offering valentine’s boudoir sessions which I will post about soon. I’m taking a short hiatus from work for a week or two to re-decorate our home and spend time with my loved ones. I’ll still be checking emails so don’t hesitate to email me if you have questions or anything at all!
